I want to notify people about how poor this purchase was for me....Please just take a minute to read my review of this item before you buy it!
The night vision LED lights do not work in poor day light/dusk and evening. I use my webcams in the evenings so i was wanting a webcam that i was able to use within a darker room. The LED and Night Vision stated for this webcam appealed to me very much. However, when i went to use it in the evening, i switched it on and turned the LED lights on but the whole image of myself through the webcam was black. The LED lights were not suitable, they did nothing to help with the lighting, even with my room light switched on, this black image still appeared, there was no difference with the lighting however bright i turned the LED lights on and however many times i adjusted the settings either.
May i also add how poor the packaging was and how badly damaged it was when i received it.
The packaging it came in was only a bubble wrap/jiffy envelope and because it wasn't posted in a better, more sturdier packaging, the webcam box itself had been crushed. When i opened the envelope to take the item out, the webcam box was crushed and open without a seal. Also it was not the same box on the image you use to advertise it. The webcam box had also been badly torn on one side and this, through my eyes, was very unacceptable postage and packaging. The Software CD that came with it, that was not sealed within the sleeve it came with, so the CD itself was out of the sleeve and was just left loose within the box and was unprotected from being scratched.
I am very displeased about this product and I was very disappointed in the state of how the webcam was when i received it. Not only that but the webcam itself did not please me because it did not do what it states it can do. The 'Night Vision' does not work and the LED lights are very, very poor. Basically, you can not use this Night Vision webcam at 'night' or within poor lighting.
If you are in search of a Night Vision webcam that actually works in dark environments and rooms or even rooms with poor lighting, this is not acceptable, this will not work!
May i point out i am still waiting for my refund.

Sorry, but not really impressed with this piece of equipment, the LED lights are very bright but do nothing to illuminate you when the camera is in use, all they do is dazzle you.
It is also very finicky about when it has to be powered up, I use Skype and I found that if I opened skype first and then plugged in the camera (or was it the other way around?) the camera wouldn't react to the ambient light and the preview screen would show nothing more than a shadowy image which the recipient would also receive.
