I have just received this tripod and at first look it is a superb tripod for the price.

I have been looking around at the more 'expensive' tripods on offer at my local shops and they all looked great but for the price you can-not beat this tripod.

The ball head is also an excellent item, very strong and secure which has always been a worry for me carrying a tripod across my shoulders with my expensive camera on top but with this tripod/ballhead I will certainly have no worries about my camera + lens coming loose.

I would honestly say why pay more for a 'name' when you can have this superb tripod for a lot less money.

If you're looking for a solid and secure tripod you cannot get much better value than this....

Fantastic tripod. It was delivered in a day or two after ordering. I've ordered reflectors from ExPro before and they were also excellent and less than half of the price of the big brands so I was hoping for similar luck with this tripod, and it's great. I was looking at Manfrotto and Giotto tripods, and to get a good quality set of legs plus ball head was going to be around £700, and even at that price they had mixed reviews. I bought this instead, and spent the 'left over money' ;) on a fisheye lens.

It's fantastic. It doesn't mention in the listing but it also comes with two camera plates. The ball head is greased and it takes a little bit of moving when you first take it out the box to coat the ball fully, then it moves very smoothly. The ball head fixing is very tight, even with a heavy camera and lens pointing at an angle it holds it securely. The spirit level is really useful. The catches on the legs and the ball head fixing tightener are all metal so feel built to last. It's heavy but to be honest it's a good weight, not too heavy but heavy enough that even with a heavy body and lens it's not likely to blow over in a breeze.

No instructions supplied, but it's pretty straightforward. Although I did take a few minutes to work out how to remove the camera plate from the ball head fixing - there's a little silver lever on the underside of the ball head, press it downwards and it releases the catch and the plate slides out to the opposite side. Easy once you know how. :)

Excellent bit of equipment for the money, I'm sure the more expensive tripods must do more, but for a lot more money and I can't imagine what more a tripod can do apart from hold your camera steady, have a smooth fast setup and a quick camera release, all of which this tripod has. Buy this and get another lens too, you know you need one.. ;)

Apart from the fact that delivery took for ages this is a good piece of kit and is much cheaper than famous brands. Very rugged and well made.

Bought this tripod in May and its now October so I have put it through its paces. All I can say is this tripod is definitely not for everyone. I use this with my 60D mostly for landscapes and macro.

First thing I'll say about it is that this is as sturdy as the come, it would survive a nuclear blast. Never have I been afraid of it blowing over. The legs are great quality and if you shoot in rough conditions this is the tripod for you. With that in mind it is very heavy, although it hasn't ever bothered me that much.

On to the negative... The function of the head isn't very good. The mechanism on the shoe has failed me once in which it fell apart and took me 1hr to fix. The plate does not fit every tightly into the head, I having to screw it in more and more so it fits snugly (This has got better over time). The mechanism for the ball head also loosens the entire head meaning when you loosen the ball to compose your shot the head loosen too, this causes the head to wobble slightly. This and the quick release plate issue makes it nearly impossible you compose shots if they require small adjustments because when you take your hand off the camera there is a slight movement... very annoying.

If you need a heavy duty tripod and are not to worried about small adjustments will composing shots, this is the tripod for you. If you like macro photography and the slightest of movement will screw your composition, avoid this tripod like the plague.

Great for the price.

I have used many types and brands of tripods over the years and can honestly say this is one incredible piece of photographic kit.

The first thing you notice when you take this tripod from it's box is how solid and well made it actually is. As a landscape photographer I rely on tripods that will not shake in winds or tremble when the camera is actually mounted....no worries with this monster of a tripod!

I tested the tripod using a Sony DSLR with battery grip attached, the lens was a Sony 70-300mm and once safely secured onto the ball-head it was safe as houses.

As good as any tripod I have ever used at a fraction of the price and that's me being honest.

The camera screws onto the footplate then slides into place, after this you simply turn a lever that secures the camera until it is solid and impossible to come loose...no worries there!

The spirit level built into the tripod head is a bit too dark for my liking but I use one fitted onto the camera hotshoe anyway for 100% level horizons so that's not a major issue for me here.

I stumbled across this Tripod by complete accident and was about to save up for a well known brand which can cost hundreds of pounds.

How the makers can sell this for under £50 complete with Tripod case is beyond me but that's good news for us.

Please ignore tripod Snobs who think you have to have a well known brand name attached to things...this is as good as anything on offer.

Once I had paid for the Tripod it arrived 2 days later safe and sound...amazing service and I'm one happy Photographer.
