Perfect for connecting DV camcorders (Sharp, Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Samsung JVC or any camcorder / device with 4 or 6 pin DV output), CCD cameras, digital still cameras, set top boxes and other IEEE1394 FireWire devices to a PC. The host adapter provides three external ports for external peripherals and one internal port for internal FireWire devices such as hard drives or optical drives. The card arrived very promptly, slotted into my Dell laptop and worked with my Sony DV camera via the supplied FireWire cable with no fuss. The editing software included on CD has some nice features too. Colour me happy!

What can I say? I I connected everything and it worked as I'd hoped for transferring video from my (old-ish) camcorder to my (old-ish) laptop for editing and then transferring on to DVD.

Does exactly what it says on the box
Not a lot to add to the review title really; plug in, switch on, hook up your DV camcorder, away you go. Perfect for my purpose.

easy as plug and play
just got the device recived within a few days of ordering all i had to do is plug it to my laptop and i could import my vids off my cam cord
