Blue Backlight LCD Display to display the level of battery, operation function, HD capacity available, type of memory card inserted, capacity on the memory card used, and the file transfer progress. Reads SD, SDHC, Mini SD, Duo, Memory Stick and XD, MMC, RS-MMC cards directly. Unit can be charged via the AC Mains adapter or via the PC/Mac when connected by USB or available optionally by In-Car adapter (Not included). The unit can also be used as a back-up external hard drive, connecting via USB to your PC/Mac and appears in file manager as a logical drive, copy, add or delete files with ease using your operating system.

The reason for me buying this item is that my brother in law and I run a very small wedding business. We wanted a piece of equipment which we could use on the move to back up our various memory cards as an additional fail safe. On the face of it and from the description this seemed perfect to fit our needs.
So the positives:-
It is specifically designed for memory cards as opposed to general use.
It is small enough to fit into a rucksack or camera bag
It has a big hard drive able to handle even the most demanding photographers needs. (allegedly)
The negatives:-
It feels very plastic and cheap, the pins in the CF card reader look like they will bend if you just look at them
You are not guaranteed which company will supply the hard drive for the device.
It is more expensive that just buying a portable hard drive
So why the one star? Well mine didn't work! From the moment it came out of the box. I found the instructions for use quite confusing. They tell you whatever you not to format the hard drive so I didnt, but the trouble shooting section talks about creating partitions on your computer and renaming etc which if your not computer literate is both confusing and worrying. It did not perform like a plug and play type item I.e. ready for use as soon as it came out of the box.
Now I must say the company I bought it from we're absolutely superb. I was offered a refund, replacement or discounted upgrade without any quibbles. The customer service was five stars. In the end I opted to upgrade to a model which features an LCD screen. It is far superior and works like a dream. So my advice is leave this alone, it is a cheap plastic unreliable piece of equipment and go for something a little more expensive with a lot more quality.
