I came across track 'Leaving Me' on Pandora. Absolutely loved it every time it played on the stream. Finally had to come and check out this guy.
"Leaving Me" is such a phenomenal track, that it is worth paying for the whole album just to get this track.
I am not big into Detroit Techno, I usually prefer atmospheric dnb, progressive house/trance, some deep house and of course lets not forget laid back stuff like Groove Salad from SOMAfm. (Electronica has so many subgenres, I choose to stop naming here)
In any case, the album is well worth a listen. You might have to 'create' a better association with this one, instead of just playing it. Try to imagine yourself in an old smoke filled club (yeah the one with a lot of dark corners), in a semi-full 'techno' room on the second floor, the DJ is hidden in the dark booth with only faint red light radiating from the equipment. A bunch of strangers on the dance floor moving like a synchronous ant hill eliminated by random strobes. The sound is so tight, you think you are wearing headphones. This should put you in the right place, its least it does for me.
'Last One' 'Lady 707' and 'Room 337' 'Ex Machina' 'Kept Within' are definitely good tracks once you get off the roller coaster called 'Leaving Me'.
The rest are listenable, but too techno-ish for me. I prefer the atmospheric stuff. I probably would skip the Anna's Theme all together though. Not sure what Aril was doing there.
The album cover is also quite good. It took me a little bit to figure out that I am looking at a train snow plow and not an ancient structure somewhere in Asia.
If I was helpful to you with my ramblings, hit the yes button. It will make my day.
