Poor Design 1 Oct. 2010
By KBG - Published on
Fine idea, poor execution. It seems as though this product did not go through any actual testing prior to being manufactured and sold. Take a look at the photo. In order to cut the corn, one must hold the cob in one hand and with the other hand, pull the blade toward the holding hand. While the blade is fairly sharp, it is not sharp enough to allow for an easy pull. Rather, one must pull quite hard in order to actually cut the corn. When pulling hard, the corn inevitably breaks at some point causing the momentum of the cutter to quickly move toward the holding hand. This is an accident waiting to happen. I tried to use it once, my husband tried it once, the Cobber went straight into the trash. The product may have worked if the cutting side of the blade was on the opposite side. The cob then could've been stood upright on a plate and the cobber could've been pushed down toward the plate in order to make the cut.

Would give -0 stars if I could 5 Jun. 2011

This is a piece of junk. That really is all I can say about it. I tried to use it and ended up going back to a knife after one ear of corn. We eat a LOT of corn on the cob and I make soups and salads with the kernals so I thought this would be a good idea. Boy was I wrong. The only good thing I got out of it was the 3 free ears of corn for buying it. Plus at the store, it's a lot cheaper than online.
great for cool corn, not so much when it's still hot 16 Sept. 2013

I like this tool but it's best used when the cob has cooled...unless you can hold onto hot corn cobs, then I guess you'd be fine! ;-)
Nice wide blade, cuts corn well; flimsy plastic 12 Aug. 2013

I'm sure this will do what it says, I haven't used it much so take it for what's it's worth. But it seems to me that the plastic is not real durable and with a bit to much muscle would snap in 2. But works fine.
bad idea 24 July 2013

I thought this would work but too dull and if you push hard enough to make it work I an sure the handle would break. Save your money.
