I bought this player to replace my 7 year old Creative Zen, which hasn't actually failed yet, but is becoming increasingly unreliable, and didn't want to wait until it finally packs up. So why no 5 stars, like the other reviewers?
The instruction booklet might just as well have been written in err, Chinese. I'm not even sure it relates to the player I have. I'm no technophobe, but there is absolutely nothing intuitive about operating this player. It took me 2 hours to work out how to change the time and date for a start. The earphones are cheap and nasty, but in the spirit of fairness, most MP3/4 players come with sub standard earphones. The radio is very poor, crackly and indistinct. The sound quality of music is alright, but nothing special. If it can be seen as a bonus the volume can be set to very loud levels. Again, the quality of videos is not terrible, but neither are they particularly crystal clear, as I had been led to expect. For £60 I was expecting something a little better, which I suspect was my mistake. I have put the player away for now until my Zen finally goes, and I am forced to use this. At that point I will amend my review. So, 2 stars, 1 for prompt delivery, and 1 because it looks quite attractive.
