Format:DVD
This film made it onto the DPP's notorious list of banned films in the early 1980s. It was re-released some years later on video but in a heavily-cut version. Now horror fans can watch this film uncut thanks to Anchor Bay.
The film itself contains many of the `80s horror movie clichés - the nerdy kid who is always getting picked on, the naked girl in the shower, lots of daft plot elements that make no sense (how does he get all that computer equipment down to the basement single-handedly?) and masses of gruesome and over-the-top violence and gore.
The plot is fairly simple - an orphaned nerdy kid (played by `Gentle Ben' star Clint Howard - the brother of Ron Howard) plots revenge on his tormentors at a military school by using a computer to summon up the ancient spirit of a Satanist (I always knew computers could be dangerous). When the computer screen displays the message "Data incomplete... human blood required" you just know that there is lots of bloody carnage in store.
This film in its uncut form certainly does not disappoint on the gore front, particularly during the spectacular blood-drenched climax when Clint goes on the rampage with a huge broadsword. There is also a memorable scene where the aforementioned girl in the shower is attacked and eaten by a herd of ravenous wild boar! With this double-disc package you get two versions of this film but most horror fans will just really be interested in the uncut version. If you have not seen it, this is definitely worth checking out.

Evilspeak made it onto the official video nasty list, but in all honesty, even completely uncut, it's pretty tame stuff.If you want the full uncut version get the DVD released by Anchor Bay.It's an entertaining early 80's splatter flick about a young guy (Clint Howard) who's constantly bullied by his classmates and the staff at the military school where he's staying.One day, while cleaning the school basement he finds a dusty old book which opens a diabolical world of black magic up to him.Via the book and a computer he exacts his revenge on the school bullies who have made his life a misery, becoming possessed by the spirit of the Satanist who originally wrote the book.There's some nice gory deaths to round off the movie including: attacks by flesh-eating pigs, beheadings, heart-ripping, etc.I'd certainly say it's one of the better video nasties.

Before I bought it, I have heard very good things about this film, and this is the first dvd I got of it, and this version is absolutely terrible. There are at least 4 minutes cut, which in itself is absolutely disappointing. The picture and sound quality are absolutely terrible as well, the picture can jump from high quality to ultra low quality, and the sound can range from hearable, to absolutely quiet.
In conclusion, avoid this version of the DVD, it is pathetic, instead buy the 100 mins uncut version. It may be £[], but for this movie, it is totally worth it, this is one of the best films I have ever seen, and the 100 mins uncut does it complete justice.
