Cookie-Cutter Euro Dance With Great Crossover Potential

Cascada's latest single, "Everytime We Touch," is their first true crossover hit. Added just last week at the US' biggest CHR/pop station, Z100, the song has taken the NYC market by storm, and other markets have followed suit. Its success comes at a time when dance has largely been dormant at pop radio, save for DHT's recent remake of "Listen To Your Heart" (and incidentally both tracks were released on America's most well known dance crossover label, Robbins Entertainment).
The song combines a heavy, driving drumline with a killer melody and cheesy female vocals. Think ATC's "Around The World" meets Melanie C's "I Turn To You." Yes, it's a little generic, and yes, it may seem like a throwaway dance track, but to the casual dance and pop radio enthusiast, it's definitely a gem.
All in all, "Everytime We Touch" is a refreshing sound for mainstream radio; if you haven't yet heard "Everytime We Touch" on your pop radio station, you probably will in the near future, especially if your station isn't hesitant to add the occasional dance track.

Everytime I hear this song, I get this feeling...

Everytime this song comes on the radio, I know I'm about to be in 3 minutes 19 seconds of dance-pop bliss. It's great that Cascada didn't shy away from putting some real trance in the middle of the song for fear of scaring off US radio. It was a risk that paid off -- Everytime We Touch is well on its way to the US Top 10!
