For a first novel this is a really promising start from Adams. At times bordering on disturbing and others witty I found this book to be a little gem. "Everything's Fine" seems to head somewhere towards Kafka or Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four" while retaining a character of its own. There is a constant feeling of dread intermingled with humour that makes this book so absorbing. I look forward to reading more from this author and would recommend this book to anyone wanting to read something a little different.

As neoliberal capitalism limps on, this heartbreaking and witty tale will resonate with anyone working in the corporate machine. Deftly using the surreal to highlight the absurdities of modernity, the author tackles issues of identity and the struggle for meaningful interaction in a world stripped to the perpetual cycle of sell and consume, or be consumed. I had to finish this in one sitting. Wonderful.

A few comic moments, particularly from the tube, but mostly quite clunky satire that failed to say anything meaningful to me about life and work. It felt like a novel written by a teenager with promise.
