This book is concise, yet informative. It is jargon free and has 27 chapters which include 'Leading & Motivating Staff', 'Caring for Your Customers', 'Problem Solving and Decision Making', Managing Information' and 'Managing Finances' to name but a few.

Each chapter is direct and clearly laid out, complete with examples, diagrams and mini case studies, so you can literally just dip in and out to obtain the information you require - depending on which unit or element of the NVQ you may be working on. At the start of each chapter there is an extremely useful list of the elements of the NVQ that the chapter refers to, which is invaluable in assisting you when working through each elements and ensuring you have covered all the performance criteria.

There are hints and tips for effective management from managing time to communcating effectively.

The information is extremely sufficient, valid and useful and provides good grounding on which you can build on and relate it to your position as a manager. I have found it to be entirely relevant to my course and my role within my current company!

I would definately recommend it to anyone doing an NVQ in Management as it's a relevant, practical, clear, concise and extremely informative guide to NVQ Management.
