As a previous review stated, this book is not really for beginners (so I think the title is a bit deceptive, although unintentionally so). It seemed to me that they made some assumptions about what their readers know, because I was confused in reading descriptions of the various techniques and felt that some basic information was left out. It was published in 1995 in England, so it seems a bit dated (although it may not be ... I've only recently started reading about fabric painting). Most of the supply sources mentioned in the appendix are in England.
Having said that - it is certainly a good read if you'd like to learn more about many of the different techniques of fabric painting. I was particularly impressed with the beautiful and unique patterns of the marbling technique, which requires a lot more work than most.
I would recommend that you check this book out from the library before deciding to buy it.
