Brilliant!, 17 Sep 2005
This review is from: Everything Sounds Like Coldplay Now (Audio CD)
Coldplay fans will love this, and Coldplay haters will love it too, and if you're just neutral about Coldplay, you won't be neutral about this CD because It is just so clever. Watch out on the video for the writing on Mitch's hand...

Mitch's Cold Play, 2 Sep 2005
This review is from: Everything Sounds Like Coldplay Now (Audio CD)
Another song about teenage angst to join the unmerry throng ... this isn't. 'Everything Sounds Like Cold Play Now' is an elegantly designed satirical piece from Bill Bailey lookalike Mitch Benn. Performing his composition with Kirsty Newton and Tasha Baylis (The Distractions), Mitch has captured the essence of 21th century British 'DespairPop' in his first assault on the singles chart.
Mitch will be familiar to BBC radio listeners as a constant and vital component of The Now Show. The new single builds on Mitch's undoubted success with previous albums, 'Radio Face' and 'Too Late to Cancel', which contained memorable genre spoofs of rap, Christmas hits, boy bands, live glamrock, blues, and rock opera, as well as individual take-offs of Elvis, John Lennon, The Doors and many many more. His new album, 'Crimes Against Music', which includes a tribute to the late John Peel, is due for release in early October.
The video accompanying the song, expertly directed by Adam Bromley, displays Mitch's sylph-like physique to good effect on both stage and beach.
A not to be missed experience.
