Book Description

3 May 2001
When Louise Jermaine's father leaves, she grows up fast with little help from her selfish mother. Her best friend's home is a sanctuary - until her step-father hurts her so deeply she vows to escape from her past. She reinvents herself as Angie Kavanagh and discovers a talent for journalism, becoming a top celebrity interviewer. Years later, she writes about spoilt supermodel and It-girl Rebekah Alari. Angie sees that, despite all her advantages, Rebekah's life is not as glamorous as she pretends. She, too, hides a secret about her past. Angie herself seems at last to have found happiness, but her life is littered with emotional obstacles and she finds it impossible to leave the past behind...

5.0 out of 5 stars everything is not enough is enough for me 18 Mar 2003
Format:Hardcover
I found this book highly entertaining indeed. With twists tears and tantrums, this book is just up my street. Sad at times, but with a heart rendering ending. Good Characterisation, and effective use of focusing on one character, then switching to another. tiny bit predictable but highly worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A stunning first novel 3 April 2001
Format:Paperback
This is the book you daren't start half way through an evening. If you do, you'll be up all night, just having to know what happens next. I don't usually like books where the action takes place over a period of years, but this one is an exception. I was gripped throughout, it never once flagged, and the characters are as real as my own family. A brilliant book. Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab book - her best so far! 10 Aug 2008
Format:Paperback
Just finished this book. Started last night at 11 p.m. finished today at mid day with only 5 hours sleep.
This is the author's first book and I have read them all but I think this was possibly the very best. Great characterisation, I found this book very sad sad in one place but I won't spoil it by mentioning what it was. Slightly predictable but very good nonetheless. I highly recommend this author. Great ending.
