Review
'Sharp, witty and unnervingly streetwise, Wyllie is a name you're going to hear more of' --Carol Clewlow, Author - A Woman's Guide to Adultery

'A sharp and stunning debut. Taut prose, original voice, visuals that crackle and shock. Wyllie trips the reader into a foreboding world where sex sells and friendships are dubious.' --Caroline Smailes, Author - In Search of Adam

Product Description
'I'm every woman they have ever dreamt of. I'll do anything - I'll do things they didn't even know they wanted'. Tiggy's stuck in a rut - trapped in a half-life as a stripper at a Mayfair club, surviving on dope and vodka, and desperate for her married lover to leave his wife. Scarlett is different - she's more confident, stunningly beautiful, and willing to do absolutely anything to get exactly what she wants. Tiggy is intoxicated by the enigmatic Scarlett, following her into an arousing world of sex and excitement. But Scarlett has her own agenda, and she doesn't do anything for free. Sooner or later Tiggy's going to have to pay. Evocatively set in the summer of 1991, 'Everything You Ever Wanted' is a smart and gritty tale of two young women's colourful adventures in a London sex industry where money talks, and boundaries are there to be broken.

4.0 out of 5 stars Original and well put together, 11 Dec 2008

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
From the cover of this book I was a bit unsure what to expect and whether it was another one of the 'sex diary' type of books that seem to be coming out quite frequently of late. However, when I received it I realised this was a novel not at all like that and in fact does not have much adult type content that would be shocking.

Instead this is a pretty fantastic debut novel which charts the lives of two very different girls, both workers at a strip club for quite different reasons. The realtionships throughout the book are well written and believable, which was a real bonus.

I was engrossed right from the beginning. At first I was not a fan of the writing style as it seemed to be quite fragmented, but that was just used for effect I think and the style did not take away from the story at all in the end.

This is quite a shocking novel in terms of the fact you don't expect what is coming. I had no idea of what I thought would happen and was very happy with the way things played out. This is one that will suck you in and leave you gripped until the end.

The specific time setting was good, although I was only very young in 1991 I can relate to the time and it was good to have a sense of nostalgia in a way and be able to read about a real life, real time setting. This is a novel that seems quite realistic too as we get real descriptions that give the sense that you can almost reach out and touch the setting.

I am giving it 4 out of 5 as I feel it didn't quite deserve a 5. There is just a sense that something is missing, although I am not sure what. I really enjoyed the book though and liked the fact that it was easy to dip in and out of, being written in short chapters from each girl's perspective. This kept it fresh and it was good to see both sides of the action. Not too heavy in terms of content, this is one that I would recommend. Original, funny and a great debut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seedy but a good read, 9 Dec 2008

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
This is certainly a bit of an alternative read for me. Set in the heart of the sex industry this is the story of two girls who work together in a strip club. Written in 'first person' narrative, it plots their relationship and the storyline that results from this relationship. Well written and fast paced it is easy to read and enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gritty, fast-paced and addictive., 29 Nov 2008

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Whilst working as a hostess in a seedy Mayfair club, hardened, streetwise and manipulative Scarlett hooks up with self-pitying, uber-victim Tiggy, who could have anything, but instead chooses to spend her days drinking vodka, smoking dope and waiting for her married lover to leave his wife.

The story takes place in 1991 and comes to it's conclusion as Bryan Adams finally gets knocked from the top of the charts.

The prose is well-written, witty and addictive. Told in alternating chapters by Tiggy and Scarlett it moves along well and the chapters are short enough to read 'just one more'

I really enjoyed this and will look out for future releases from this author
