Product Description

"Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi is part biology textbook part sociological treatise and all celebration of a very natural process. Both my daughters begged me to read the book over and over again. They marveled at the enormity of the elephant`s poop and searched with the skill of a scientist for the tiny specks which represent bug poop. The text is simple and straightforward but not without humor. An elephant makes a big poop the book begins. A mouse makes a tiny poop. A one-hump camel makes a one-hump poop And a two-hump camel makes a two-hump poop. Only kidding! The colorful illustrations are eye-catching and deceptively detailed. The poop of each animal species is very distinctive in size shape and colorA book which doesn`t have any preachy overtones but merely explains where and how each living creature poops seems to work for my two-year-old. In fact it`s number one on the bathroom reading list at our house." - The Expositor

5.0 out of 5 stars Great books for the potty set 8 May 2001
By A Customer
I purchased this book for my little boy when he was 1 and 1/2, the whole family enjoyed it. It is definitely a book to help little ones with trouble going as well, to let them know, it is normal to poop, EVERYONE does it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great potty-training book 3 May 1997
By A Customer
The illustrations and text are simple, funny and terrific. It's educational, and also shows toddlers where is the appropriate place for people to poop. It's one of my children's favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT baby gift! 29 Jun 1999
By A Customer
I have given this as a baby gift many times! Parents love this book! Children love this book! I highly recommend it for a great and original baby gift! The illustrations are great, and the rhythm of the book allows the child to memorize the words!

I bought this book for my 2 year old and she absolutely loves it. I had to read it to her at least ten times on the first day. She also loves to flick through it herself and seems genuinely amused and fascinated by the fact that all animals poop as well as ourselves! As we are in the process of potty training, I think this book will be very helpful. Our most popular book of the moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poops great! 3 Nov 2007
This book is the 'business'. My three year old son wants me to read it to him constantly. It is even helping with a very difficult potty training situation. All of my adult friends have laughed out loud when reading this book, and some are even going to buy copies for themselves!
Great book. Buy now.

4.0 out of 5 stars It Doesn't Stink!!! 2 Sep 1998
By A Customer
Everybody Poops! I wish I had access to this book when I was about five years old. When I was that age, I pooped and I thought I was deformed. Whenever I had to go when I was at school, I tried not to go and I would get very sick (fever). I'm glad that today's youth do not have to suffer through the same torment. This book lets it all hang out and lets kids know that when they have to take a dump, they aren't alone. Everybody Poops (even Cindy Crawford) and a child shouldn't be ashamed of that fact. If I did have a quarrel with the book, I didn't think the visual depiction of feces was authentic. Diarrhea was also not mentioned, which I thought was a weak point. But overall, I'd drop a small load for this book.

Everyone Poops does an excellent job of explaining a subject to children that many adults may be uncomfortable talking about without the help of this humorous, well-illustrated book. The book does not cross into the area of bad taste or black humor, but is a funny, practical guide to helping children understand the subject. On a lighter note, no college dormitory or fraternity house living room should be without their very own copy of Everyone Poops!

My 3 year old is fascinated with bodily functions and therefore this book is a very important one to him! He gets very serious when we read this book together. It features various animals and people and their poop. It's a straight-forward story that tells children that pooping is something everyone does. I don't know if it's helpful in potty training (my son is not yet potty trained) but it sure might be.
