Product Description

This Special Edition version includes a bonus DVD. Ever since the demise of New Zealand popsmiths Crowded House back in the late 90s, brothers Neil and Tim Finn have been content to plough their furrow far from pop's bustling farmstead. Everyone Is Here, the pair's second full-lengther, lacks the full production and grand, Beatlesesque melodic ambitions that saw songs like "Weather With You" and "Fall At Your Feet" become transatlantic radio hits - but it replaces such scope with a smudged, intimate acoustic style that suits Neil and Tim's songwriting talents almost as neatly. The album's finest moments are mostly placed towards the top end: "Luckiest Man Alive" is the sort of conscious rock gospel that Stereophonics' Kelly Jones would kill to be able to write, while "Anything Can Happen" – a billowing, U2-style epic of scintillating guitar and cavernous drum-crashes is seemingly placed to prove that not all is trad chez Finn. As an album, it probably won't spawn any MTV-hogging video classics – certainly, that was never the intention – but Finn fans in search of a mellow listen should find Everyone Is Here hits all the right buttons. --Louis Pattison

5.0 out of 5 stars A moving and exceptional masterpiece 9 Aug 2005
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This is by far the best cd I have bought for as long as I can remember. The title track is totally moving and makes you want to listen to it over and over, but the following tracks draw you in too. The Finn brothers are vastly under rated and if you can listen to this cd without it touching your very soul you simply need to hear it again. There is not a bad song on this cd. The Lennon and McCartney of their time are on top form. The DVD is an extra treat, but the album alone is something I can't stop playing. It is something everyone needs as part of a cd collection to be proud of.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fantastic Finns excel this time 18 Jan 2006
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Wow what can I say. When I first heard this CD I thought it was good.
Then I listened to it again, and I thought it was great.
Now I listen to it almost daily and I think it's FANTASTIC!
This album has got to be the Finn Brothers at their very best. Although they write great songs individually I really think they should stick to writing together as they seem to bring out the best in eachother.
The harmonies are brilliant and the songs moving but also uplifting.
Songs such as Won't Give In and Disembodied Voices are so personal they almost make you feel as if you are intruding on a very private conversation, whilst All The Colours and Luckiest Man Alive leave you feeling revitalised.
So come on Neil and Tim you must have some more of these delights up your sleeves, more please!
