Fabulous Pictures if you love Vintage 2 Jan 2012

I write a blog on all things vintage and also another on WW2. This is probably the best book I have found up to now on fashions through the 1940s. In the UK rationing obviously caused serious shortages in just about everything. Rationing came a lot later for the US and this is obvious in the fashions that Sears had available. It is also fascinating to see how fashion styles changed through the decade. If you are studying the period of 1940s or are interested in re-enactment or attending Goodwood style festivals this books is very helpful in producing a highly stylised look of the American 40s.
Highly recommended book.

If your Mum liked catalogue shopping then she'll love this. It reads just like an authentic Sears catalogue of the period, with all the genuine 40's fashion items. The only thing is; you'll have to make sure she doesn't try to order any items for real, as the special offers expired some time ago!

I've been looking for a book like that for ages! Invaluable source of information to anyone interetsed in 1940s fashion, everything is covered with black and white illustrations and photographs. Highly recommended!
