Product Description

Product Description

Millman shares his belief that if we can wake up, we will see the spiritual in each moment of our lives. He shows how to free our attention from the mundane matters that distract us from the various ways, including achieving the self-esteem to want more; rediscovering our will to do; learning to welcome money in our lives; and accepting our emotions as they are. We can then can follow Millman on to deeper spiritual concerns, discovering how fear can teach us courage, how sex can serve as a path to God, how serving others will complete the circle of life, and more. Inspiring us with vision and forgiveness, Millman shows us how to become alert to the miracle of each moment. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Author

Why I wrote EVERYDAY ENLIGHTENMENT.
One day the question occured to me, "What does "personal growth" really mean? The answer, when it came, appeared in the form of twelve arenas of life--twelve "gateways" that form the foundation of personal and spiritual growth, of success, fulfillment--leading toward our human potential.

These gateways--dealing with worth, will, energy, money, mind, intuition, emotions, courage, shadows, sexuality, the heart, and finally, service-- represent the culmination of all that I’ve so wanted to share these years--a complete map to the territory of human potential. It sheds new light on the higher purpose and promise of everyday life, about what each of us is here to do, and finally, how to live a more enlightened life each day, each moment.

The challenge shown here is to LIVE LIFE with an every-day, moment-to-moment awareness of one's own actions; to act with a fearless, one step in front of the other awareness, a consciousness of being.

If you are UNAFRAID to confront your fears, to peer into those dark places that keep you in the shadows -- here's a guidebook for enLIGHTenment to help you on your way.

Thanks Dan -- I've heard you speak in San Francisco & Sacramento and I continue to read and LIVE your teachings daily -- Namaste

Dan Millman, one of the few great teachers who affect all of us, has given us a great gift with this work.

Dan is not a guru on a mountain who offers esoteric sayings, but a real man. He is a champion of gymnastics and husband and father who gives us perspective on life. When was the last time you heard a New Age Guru guide you on how to manage money? Or how to make your body more fit?

Read some of this book. You will find guidance in all aspects of a wonderful life, and advice on how to live a rich and beautiful existence. The world becomes better as you read each word.

I like this book, I like the exercises which are similar to the 5 exercises for Health and Vitality the Buddhists do in Tibet which are excellent. Straightforward and sensible, a good manual for living.
