The title of this release suggests, at first glance, a 'Best Of' package; it is, in fact, a straight reisssue of the brilliant 'Fred Neil' album, which is available elsewhere on Amazon, but only at an extortionate price. Several of the titles will indeed be familiar from cover versions by other artists, as was invariably the case with Neil's compositions; but the entire album is superb American Folk-Psychedelia, and was hightly influential of many, more prominant, contemporary artists.
If you can pick up a 2nd hand copy of the Revola release, which is a clear, hiss-free transfer, at a reasonable price (anything under a tenner) , you'll be grabbing a real bargain.
