Product Description

A quintessentially English proposition, The Struts are a band who proudly stand apart from the crowd and steadfastly refuse to chase the latest trends and fads, The Struts aren’t afraid to plough their own furrow and have the tunes to back it up. They’ve built their loyal fan base through fanatical word of mouth, blistering live shows and monstrous hooks that steadfastly refuse to leave your brain. The result is high octane, heavy, soulful rock n roll that delivers on every level. Flamboyant and hard-partying, with dashes of wit, this is entertainment.

This is a fantastic debut album, perfect songs with every track a winner. They are amazing live and this album compliments that superbly. This for me is going to be THE album of 2014.

Without a doubt, The Struts are the music act I have been most genuinely excited about in the last three to four years. I think they are such a breath of fresh air in our lukewarm, middle-of-the-road, radio one dominated British music industry. They pay homage to so many of our great home grown bands, yet they don't ever feel dated, or specific to one particular decade. Their music is timeless. If you love good old British rock 'n' roll you really need to check this album out. There are influences of Queen, the Rolling Stones and Oasis. They receive hardly any support from the media and it's such a massive shame as they are amazing songwriters, singers and musicians. And I think you would genuinely struggle to find a band that are so tight as a unit performancewise. (And they're such decent people too).

This is a very good debut. What is surprising is that it is not an album that takes lots of plays to get into it. When hearing it for the first time you might even think you have heard it before. You haven't. There are lots of influences, such as early Queen, Supergrass and an upbeat Robbie Williams, but this is far from a copy of any of these, and The Struts sounds like the Struts. Yes they do have some successful people behind them, but that is no reason to dismiss them.

They are great live and Luke Spiller is a showman. They are clearly serious about the music without taking themselves too seriously. The song could have been me probably sums them up - essentially that they don't want to look back thinking about what they could have done. It is very upbeat and songs such as roll up, put your money on me and dirty sexy money will get most people on their feet.

Saw this band at the Isle of Wight Festival and then at the Victorious Festival in Southsea, and was very impressed. They are rock, but fairly light, and just plain fun. The singer, Luke Spiller has a cracking voice, a voice capable of singing a variety of styles, as proved by both this album and the one he did with and for Mike Oldfield. Luke seems to take on a number of guises, and there's a track on this album where the band sounds like Queen (Mr Spiller takes some of his on-stage poses from Freddie Mercury), and another where they sound somewhat like T-Rex. No matter, though, as The Struts have some fine songs, none of them with bland lyrics and, with their current tour, they should be very well-known by next year. If you buy the album, play it LOUD!

This is the best album I've heard in a long time and worth buying twice as the download version has a bonus track not on the cd in a case.
The tunes are totally catchy, well written lyrics, anthematic songs that gets everyone singing along.
They are amazing live - Luke Spiller's stage presence is something else - it's like a cross between Freddie Mercury and Mark Bolan, (strongly influenced by Queen) with just a spattering of The Darkness and the smouldering sexuality of Jim Morrison.
Catch them live now at smaller venues before they get huge. (To be honest, astounded they're not huge now with this talented bunch).

Brilliant, good old R'n'R with a bit of quirk thrown in along the line. Will brighten up any day. Spillers vocals are electric and Adam (Lead/Rythym Guitar) Jed (Bass) Geth (Drums) bring energy. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates good old rock n roll. Enjoy! P.s Go see them live!!!

Brilliant indie pop album. If i were to be overly critical; I would suggest that maybe a little more depth be needed for the next one but the 12 songs here just breeze by. Aside from the obvious influences look out for the homage/rip off of Supergrass' Sun Hits the Sky. Made me grin.
