This is just another karoke song, with nursery-rhyme-style tune and lyrics, by a so-called 'band' that doesn't happen to play any instruments.
Real bands that make the big time (and there's a good few) certainly don't have to rely on silly Saturday night programmes like the X-factor to make themselves known. Instead they go out and play gigs and work their way up by gaining recognition by actually playing real music. Furthermore, the ones that are good carry on releasing hit records for years. This will never be the case for JLS, whose fame will be short lived, because all they do is sing-along (or mime) to a backing track and don't actually play any actual music. Furthermore their repertoire is very limited.
Sting recently criticised this type of music, citing his fear that it is putting musical development back years. I wouldn't worry too much, Sting. There are millions of people who do listen to real music and wouldn't touch this tosh with a bargepole. Five years from now, most people won't even have heard of JLS.
