Product Description

CD Description
The fourth studio album from the Illinois based pop punk five piece is the follow-up to 2005's suprise hit 'All That WeNeeded.' Featuring fourteen radio friendly, melody driven tracks which draw influence from the likes of Fall Out Boy and Jimmy Eat World, the album's mix of upbeat power punk and laid back acoustic balladry results in an accessible and varied release. Includes the single 'Hey There Delilah.'

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't judge an album by a single, 17 Sep 2007
By Gem Tetley (Bristol, UK) - See all my reviews
Please don't buy this whole album on the basis of `Hey There Delilah' because the rest of the album is very different. Not bad, but not what you might be hoping for.

3.0 out of 5 stars Plain White Tease., 9 Sep 2007
Most prospective purchasers of this UK release (containing a slightly rejigged track list from the US version) will be looking at it off the back of single Delilah. You may think the simple acoustic beauty of 'Hey there Delilah' would be replicated here, not the case. The only track that comes close is the acoustic strumming of 'write you a song'. The rest of the album is a collection of straight ahead power pop rock, crunchy guitars and bouncy rythems put them a world away from the hit single.
If you can apreaciate the more youthful sound on display then you will find a few catchy pop moments tucked away amongst more average fillers. It would be recommended to at least have a listen to some of the other tracks if you were expecting more of Delilah. It's not the fault of Plain White Tees though, they are an established act and have been crafting this brand of rock for a while, they just happen to have released a killer single that differs from their usual output.

4.0 out of 5 stars not bad, 11 Sep 2007
the plain white ts are a band I have been familar with or should I say known about for a while, however since there output has been unavailble to the UK I had only heard some tracks of there purevolume and myspace pages and I had never bothered to order one of there albums before, as while I thought there music sounded good It didnt blow me away, now this has been released over hear along with there first single "hey there deliah" I felt that I would give the album a listen despite the fact that "hey there deliah" is a perfectly good track, it didnt really do anything for me, I found it quite boring, I brought this based on the strength of the tracks that I heard on myspace, purevolume, and the good things I had been hearing, and the result is an average album with good tracks on, I gave it 4 stars because the plain white TS are perfectly good at what they do and if this is youre thing then you will love it, if however you are a fan of acoustic tracks and are considering buying this for hey there deliah, dont buy the album expecting it all to be like that because you will be disapointed, the rest of the album has a very youthful upbeat melodic sound and features songs about love and relationships, best to have a listen to some of the other tracks and see what you think, if you like what you hear then buy it you will enjoy. personally I think this will be my only purchase from the band.
