This album is remarkably good, and manages to ooze marvellousness from every pore. Different from other grunge bands, and with a much more punk based influence, this band were born of the legendary Sub-pop label. This was their break-through CD and its not hard to see why. Tracks such as 'let it slide' and 'Shoot the moon' are fanastic and 'who you drivin now' is not far behind. As well as these individual songs, the album maintains a consistency throughout, and there are no real bad songs. Similar in many ways to Nirvana and some 80s hardcore, this manages to stand above the crowd of grungeyness which packed out the early 90s. Go and buy it is the general message.

I bought this album when it came out on grey vinyl (wooh); I had gone to Tower records in London to buy some new music and came back with this, interestingly I was in the same Q as Sen Dog from Cypress Hill at the time. Anyway. Got the records home and played EGBDF first and it sounded great. A superb mix of genres, Blues, Punk, Grunge - allsorts.

The album has quite a live sound to it - I saw Mudhoney at reading festival in 1992 along with Nirvana and they were very good live.

It sounds just as good today as it did then. If you like grunge / punk then this album is probably for you!

The best Mudhoney album 12 April 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Mudhoney were always my favourite grunge band, simply because their music was not as serious or depressive as their contemporaries (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, et al).

This album is easily their best, with masses energy and momentum, combined with tongue-in-cheek attitude and 'grade A' melody.

I tend to listen to this album mostly during the summer months as this album (with others) helped soundtrack a feel good summer, so many years ago.
