Product Description

1986-87 was the season that Everton regained their status as the best team in the country! Having suffered double disappointment during the previous campaign, Howard Kendall and his men regained the First Division crown with the style, panache, strength and determination that you associate with all great Everton teams. Having lost Gary Lineker to Barcelona during the summer, Kendall bought wisely and constructed a squad of players who all contributed hugely to the ninth Championship success in the club's history. Men like Paul Power, Dave Watson, Wayne Clarke and Ian Snodin joined previous title winners such as Neville Southall, Kevin Ratcliffe, Kevin Sheedy and Graeme Sharp to form an irresistible force that delighted crowds the length and breadth of the land on their way to glory. This DVD celebrates that Championship success and features wonderful footage from the memorable matches along the way as well as exclusive interviews with key personnel from on and off the pitch. Extras include all the statistics from the season, a full-length review with Howard Kendall and an interview with current Everton star, and lifelong Evertonian, Alan Stubbs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed Feelings 23 Jun 2008
At times this season review DVD was riveting viewing for us now success starved blues, but at other intervals it was a little amateur.Whilst you have to understand that in the 1980s not every match was filmed by television so it was near impossible to show all goals and games but there could have been better continuity and planning in the schedule. I think it was unessessary to show clips from the non-entity full members cup at a sparcely populated goodison. Overall the best part of it was the(last 20 minutes) run in to the title win and ultimately the lap of honour in front of a packed goodison, happy memories indeed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Prepare to be underwhelmed. 9 Jun 2007
20 years on since our last title win I couldn't wait to watch and remember that great season, but the quality of this DVD is poor at best. The home matches were filmed from the back of the main stand on what looks like a home video, the away matches aren't shown at all in a lot of cases and goals against are rarely shown.

If you are hoping for a quality production then you will be very disappointed, probably one to watch after a night out.
