A lower pulley system is also included for exercises such as seated rows (middle back), bicep curls (biceps), upright rows (shoulders) and lateral raises (shoulders). These are merely examples of what exercises are available on this gym however many more can be used by attaching different gym accessories onto these cable systems.

The EV700 has been fully approved to European Union Standard EN957 and has been independently evaluated for Mechanical Safety, Intrinsic Loading & Extrinsic Loading Tests. The design has been tested for weight loading, pinch points, shear hazards, pull in and trapping hazards and similar hazards, which can arise during use of fitness equipment. Bought as a 16th Birthday gift - description as 'Starter & Intermediate' seemed appropriate and it does turn out to be an ideal size and weight for a growing lad to keep fit. Might not be heavy enough for true bodybuilders, but I guess they would know that anyway.
Does need a fair bit of space; the footprint is not all that big - a bit less than a single divan bed - but it stands fairly tall and is not something you would want in the living room. Thought about the lad's bedroom but decided that the weights thumping up and down (knowing teenagers, probably in the middle of the night) could be a problem so settled on the garage. Actually, this is not an issue since once an exercise is under way, the weights do not land but just slide up and down silently on the rails.
Building from the kit-pack could be a challenge for anyone who has trouble getting flat pack furniture to go together. The step-by-step instructions are clear and well illustrated and most of the small components - nuts, washers etc. - come on a shrink-wrap card in labelled groups for each stage of the build. But you will need a set of spanners (three sizes from memory, and two of each for nut and bolt - all metric despite the US origin). A couple of hours work for a DIY mechanic and his lad. (Not counting the two weekends and countless trips to the dump to clear a space in the garage).
Once in use, does what it says on the tin. Good range of exercises and everything works as it should. Despite the bodybuilder remark above, one weight (of nine) proved quite enough for openers, thank you. Not much in the way of exercise advice, just a few illustrations on how to use the various options, so first-timers may want to think about a related book, or there are plenty of useful clips on YouTube.

This gym has been set up and used for about 6 months now. Everything on it is usable, except the leg extension bar. You sit on the seat and lock your knees over the nice soft piece of foam, then lock your feet under the other soft piece of foam and then lift your legs and the nice "soft" foam rolls up your shin and just plain hurts. It seems designed to scrape over every lump and bump on your shin bone until you can't take it anymore. I have since discarded the bar that your knee goes over (rather easily) and just don't use that exercise. There is another issue with the pin holding the weight stack in working loose, I'll admit this has only happened about 4 times, but to me that is 4 times too many. I have been putting the pin in from the side I'm sitting so that I can see it and make sure it's in snug when I'm working out, if it's round the back where it's supposed to go you just can't keep an eye on it.

A good basic workout system that adds some nice exercises to your routine, if you need something more then you will be needing professional equipment more suited to a fully stocked gym.

Arrived three days early, but as there was somewhere secure for them to leave it, this was welcome. Took a few hours to put together, but instructions did not cause any major issues. Minor issue with the instructions is that you can't count all the pieces before starting assembly as some of them have been assembled at the factory, but this is not indicated on the "parts" list. Have used it a few times - adjustments were needed to get all the bits at the right angle during first couple of uses, but an excellent piece of equipment, which is certainly doing the job. Suggested exercises are useful, but poorly written with one picture wrongly associated with an exercise.

4 stars, because after assembly, one piece was missing. I phoned the helpline, someone took my details and order number and said they would call me back but never did. As it was such a minor piece missing, unusually for me I didn't chase it up.

Excellent multi-gym system, fair price and covers most exercise routines, and although a little time consuming to put product together, a worthwhile investment,

Arrived in under 24hrs of ordering. When checking contents please note that some of the smaller items are already fitted. Took about 4hrs to build due to sketchy instructions, but once built it's a great piece of equipment.
