Discover the changes that are besetting the world - sinking islands, visions of Gods, and a fight to protect the Stone of the Silver Shield - a stone that is keeping Wizards safe from monsters. This is Rydal's journey into the unknown - a journey he must take with only the help of his new friends; a Dwarf, a princess and a Unicorn Knight. Enter the world where Rydal realises the power of his Dreamwalking. A power marking his as a hero to come, but one fraught with unseen dangers. Enter Everlace...

Tradition has it that Moses himself wrote the first five books of the Pentateuch indeed but only four of those books are included here for it is felt that only they contain the knowledge of Hermes. Moses was a prophet learned in all the arts of the Egyptians. This included the teachings of the Chaldeans that Abraham carried with him to Egypt called Kabbalah which was taught to initiates.

Let first the reader ask himself this question: How can a Christian understand the New Testament if he/she is ignorant of the basis of the sacred knowledge of the nation that constructed the Old Testament? Understanding this is the very key to the interpretation of the gospels and the first of these, the gospel of Matthew, is included in this work as an example of the oral tradition that was carried on through to the New Testament by its initiates. Many are ignorant of this fact.

Also on examination of the Bible we shall discover that the ancient calendar upon which the festivals of the Hebrews are set is far from being based on the four seasons but rather is arranged according to the laws of the Zodiac. This work is based on Hermeticism, a religion lost in myth and time. Hermes was the most confusing, baffling and complex of the Olypian Gods: the Greek God of the mind or consciousness, an archetype of the Egyptian God of wisdom, Thoth. He was the keeper of the records of the Gods, the supervisor of the drawing up of their laws. He was also the author of forty-two sacred books and a guide of the souls in the underworld. He was called the Lord of the Moon.

The name Hermes is derived from the Greek word 'herma', meaning 'a pile of stones'. In the Greek mythology the many-eyed Argus was killed by Hermes so his fellow Gods brought him to trial. He was acquited after they had thrown pebbles at his feet. This was symbolic of the conquering of one state of consciousness, as opposed to the perception or illusion of the many. The Law of Hermes relates to the human condition of consciousness as given to us by the Father of consciousness, the one universal mind, or God. God gave man his freedom for action after bestowing upon him the energies of the planetary spheres, the governors of the Zodiac that share with us parts of their own nature, which is stamped on us at birth.

Through the knowledge of how these planetary energies interact within us we can come to know the universal mind of the God. We shall discover that the covenant of God made with Israel is also found at Stonehenge, within the Great Pyramid and in the Passion of Christ. We shall learn that the scriptures are written in accordance with the stars that have influenced mankind since the dawn of time. All the Old Testament prophets from Moses to Malachi and to Jesus of the New Testament were learned in the stars for that was the rock upon which the scriptures were built. The Holy Bible is an ancient astrological book whose universal knowledge reaches far back into antiquity to the most ancient of civilisations to Ur of the Chadees to Egypt, where Moses learnt his skill, to Babylonia of Nebuchadnezzar.

5.0 out of 5 stars An engaging tale from a new author, 26 Sep 2006
This review is from: Everlace: Knives of the Night V.1 (Paperback)
I love this novel. It may be geared toward young adults, but it is equally enjoyable for adults. The characters are unique and memorable. You have Rydal, the naive farmboy struggling with his powers of dreamwalking; Aran, the best friend and often a source of comic relief (though not in his own mind); Tralot, the wise and fatherly dwarf; Jenna, the humble princess who allows you to see the good in everyone; and Maglas, a world-weary Unicorn Knight with a strong sense of honor and duty.

Tim Reed is a wonderful storyteller. His description brings the magical world of Everlace to life. His style is witty and insightful. The story incorporates mythology and horror. Tim is adept at creating horrific situations without the need of unnecessary detail. The troupe ends on a light note, but there is foreshadowing of darker things to come. I have become quite attached to Rydal and look forward to accompanying him further on his journey in subsequent volumes.

Stunning and contemporary, this wildly inventive story will amaze and inspire you like no other fantasy novel before. A thrilling odyssey and remarkable tale of magic and adventure, packed full of wise-cracking dialogue. Tim Reed's heralded first novel KNIVES OF THE NIGHT is a treat for adults and children alike.

Incredibly entertaining from start to finish, a unique magical experience. Awaken your imagination and buy this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, 12 Nov 2006

On the most basic level, this is a brilliant adventure story, filled with new places and new creatures. However, there is more to this book than the start of a journey of epic proportions. It is a world you are drawn in to, where fantasy and reality bring together the familiar and foreign. There are so many levels you can take this book on.

It explores the hopes, loves, frustrations and conflicts both within and between its characters. You truly engage with them, which moves you through ups and downs as you share their experience. Even the lowliest or most unattractive forms of life are given a touch of humanity, making them strangely appealing.

Tim Reed is a truly talented author in the way he negotiates so many aspects of life within a world of fantasy, and yet it's so easy to relate to. A beautiful piece of writing and a truly amazing book. Thank you.
