Excellent little book.
I have been able to match my trekking itinery with the routes in the book which has ensured I am better informed.
Has lots of little hints and tips relating to places to stay, health precautions and cultural info that ensures you dont offend anyone!

I bought this as a Christmas present for someone who is doing an extended base camp trek later in the year.

It barely left his hands all Christmas Day - and the fact that it's a Cicerone guide means that the seasoned mountain man reader feels he can trust it.

Lots of info on lots of trek routes and plenty of background info for those taking less usual routes.

Full of pictures too - quite inspiring, it made me envious of his planned trip.

Out of the three books I purchased for the subject I found this one to be the best for me, lots useful information, just enough colour pictures and plastic jacket to stop it getting dog eared on the trek.
Probably best suited to compliment you on a guided tour, or at a push independent trekking, we'll see soon.
Overall very good.Everest: A Trekker's Guide (Cicerone Guide)

This book covers numerous trekking routes in the Everest region and I think suffers because it tries to include too many different options thus meaning the detail is short and it is confusing to work out exactly what trek one is following.

I generally like the Cicerone guides but this one is not their best.
