Product Description

Peter Green is universally accepted as one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time. BB King famously said of Peter Green He s the only white guy to ever make me sweat. Peter Green s troubles since his departure from Fleetwood Mac in the early 70 s are well documented. After a number of years in the wilderness he returned in the mid 90 s in the guise of the Peter Green Splinter Group and recaptured the magic of his early days. This concert, recorded in England in 2003, is made up of two sets. The first is a pared down acoustic set of predominantly vintage blues finished off by the all-time Fleetwood Mac classic Albatross, one of the most popular instrumentals ever written. The second is a full on rocking electric set combining blues tracks, Splinter Group originals and other Fleetwood Mac classics. TRACKLIST. Acoustic Set: 1) Hitch Hiking Woman 2) Sweet Home Chicago 3) Dead Shrimp Blues 4) Can You Tell Me Why (aka Legal Fee Blues) 5) Little Queen Of Spades 6) Hell Hound On My Trail 7) Albatross Electric Set: 1) I Believe My Time Ain t Long 2) Running After You 3) Little Red Rooster 4) Ain t Nothing Gonna Change It 5) Shadow On My Door 6) Must Be A Fool 7) The Stumble 8) Cool Down 9) Man Of The World 10) Dangerous Man 11) Need Your Love So Bad 12) Real World 13) The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown) 14) Black Magic Woman 15) Look On Yonder Wall

5.0 out of 5 stars come back mr green 2 May 2007
Format:DVD
nigel watson should have enormous thanks for persuadeing peter green to pick up the guitar again.such a shame the splinter group never lasted as long as it should have.from start to finish, this dvd is awesome.split in to sets, acoustic and electric, each has some great tracks-both from the splinter group and fleetwood mac catologue.this concert is from 2003,not sure if it early on in their career, but at times peter looks very nervous this may well have been his natural persona, who knows?,but a terrfic performance all the same.fave tracks on this?from acoustic set,has to be albatross(still a lovely track),hitch hiking woman, sweet home chicago, from electric set-i believe my time aint long, little red rooster, man of the world(as instrumental)green manalishi, need your love so bad(one verse taken by nigel, other by peter, absolutely beautiful version, best ever live version i've heard yet)also what is nice,is some great harmonica from peter, his abilty of which,a lot of people may not know of.basicalley if you buy one peter green/fleetwood mac item, make it this.you will love it!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Greenys splinter group 28 May 2009
Format:DVD
Excellent dvd/cd package, if your a fan of peter green you'll like this, some of the acoustic versions are brilliant. Greeny sounds a bit rusty but that magic still shines through

5.0 out of 5 stars Long live the Splinter Group 26 Sep 2010
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
A great DVD for fans of the later Peter Green group. Very good musicians and Nigel Watson should be recognised as a great guitarist. I would have liked to see Peter relate more to his audience but that does not detract from the actual music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the 2009 tour 29 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
The acoustic version of Albatross is great, Pity they don't play Oh Well, which is Peter's masterpiece with Fleetwood Mac. Peter's voice in Black Magic Woman.... he simply had no voice left after such a long performance. Worth the money you pay for it, anyway. A must for his fans.
