The second album by the Only Ones was probably their best and includes classic songs like In Betweens, Curtains for You and Miles From Nowhere. The singer, Peter Perret, writes clever lyrics and here he was at the height of his powers, exploring the darker side of human nature and love.
The Only Ones were thought of as being a bit New Wave at the time but they had no real connection with punk - far too intelligent and they could all play their instruments to a very high standard. John Perry who plays the lead guitar is a master of his craft, there is no showing off here but genuine excitement and plenty of variation.
Another Planet is not on here, but if you liked that then this collection will prove just how many brilliant songs they had. This is the band at their peak and the re-master is a genuine improvement on the original so if you've got an old vinyl copy of the album or the old CD, its time to trade up and enjoy it all over again. Oh, and you get three extra tracks as well.
