Edith Piaf, A Golden Tribute is a magical album which transports you into the theatrical world of Piaf with superb vocals and exquisite orchestral arrangements taking you through a roller coaster of emotions that Piaf herself must have experienced. Praise indeed must go to vocalist Eve Loiseau, who dare I say, sounds even better than Piaf. The arranger-musician Edward Jay deserves special mention for his captivating and enthralling orchestrations as well as his sensitive and accomplished accordion and piano playing. Fiona Barrow plays her violin with great vitality and the connection between the musicians on stage needs to be seen and heard to fully appreciate - catch their show Piaf-the-songs while you can.
I wish the Eve Loiseau and the musicians all the very best for the future and with the approach of the 50th anniversary of Piaf's passing I do hope we will hear many more radio plays from this album, Edith Piaf, The Golden Tribute.
You will find all the classic favourite Piaf tracks on this album. My personal favourites include Mon Dieu, La Vie en Rose and Autumn Leaves. I thoroughly recommend buying a copy for your collection.
