Product Description

Synopsis

Evangelism is about introducing people to Jesus but also helping them to grow in Christ. Evangelism has nothing to do with church size, but everything to do with making disciples. Making disciples is a call from God for all churches whether that church is in a declining rural community, in a teaming inter-city, or a sprawling suburb. In fact, small membership congregations are often more effective in evangelism then their sister megachurches. This book will help pastors have "God eyes" for big possibilities in their churches by focusing on: visualizing your goals; worship; creating a loving environment; passion and commitment; prayer; witness; time management; leadership recruitment; hospitality; assimilation of new members; and, managing change and conflict.

This is a Great Book 4 Nov 2010
By Dr. Terry W. Dorsett - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
So much of what is published seems to be aimed at either the mega church, or churches that want to become mega churches. It is nice to discover a book that is designed to help the small church be more effective, regardless of how much it might grow.

This book helps pastors overcome the false perception that small churches cannot do evangelism effectively. It goes on to point out how small churches often reach more people for Christ than larger churches. Larger churches tend to grow by transfer of members from churches around them while small churches grow by conversion. That is a key point.

Evangelism in the Small Membership Church 23 Aug 2008
By Ned D. Weller - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Easy read. Good mix of chapter topics: Evangelism, Vision, Worship, Relationships, Witness, Passion, Prayer, Time Management, Leadership Recruitment, Choices, Hospitality, Small Groups, Leadership Skills, Growth Challenges.

May be used for a small group study over 7 sessions (2 chapters per session).

Integrates well with "Natural Church Development" (NCD) programming by Christian A. Schwarz, particularily for the "Implementation Guide" if a church lacks 'Needs-based evangelism' in their programming.

Connects the seemingly unrelated effects which are in fact, related, in visioning and development of planning in a small membership church (100 or fewer in weekly worship).
