I dont take sugar but those in the house that do have all said that it only really dispenses half a teaspoon of sugar, also when you fill it with white sugar and pour over the cup, the steam causes the sugar to stick to the funnel not sure if this would happen with brown sugar. Looks nice on the table but for the price you would be better with a sugar bowl.
