This book was bought for my daughter and I read it because I had run out of things to read! It was so unique, thought provoking, frightening (not in the "horror" sense but in the sense that it made me really think about the path we are forging towards our future) and is one of the few books that I will never forget.
Also, you know how normally when you read a book, if you are honest, you know where it is going...Harry Potter will inevitably kill voldermort, the heroine will inevitably end up with the hero (but not until it looks like they have lost eachother) and books generally need to follow a pattern to be satisfying...if Harry hadn't won it would have ruined the whole series and if the man and woman didn't get together then what was the point? Well, this didn't follow an expected pattern and the story led you where you didn't expect it to, yet was still satisfying in its conclusion. It is refreshing to read a piece of fiction so wonderfully written, poignant and "real".
