A. Neeson says:
So is the game still coming out next week? Will they be blocking the content in a patch? Been waiting long enough for this game, hope it's not delayed because they have to print new discs...

Mr. D. Dawes says:
wont the US version be NTSC? and not play on PAL? or dont 360/ps3 have this issue these days?

Posted on 27 Feb 2014 22:07:46 GMT
Jacob Behr says:
The PS3 is region free but the 360 varies from game to game.

Accordinjg to videogamesplus this game is NOT region free on 360;

Did you even read the article? The censoring is like 4-5 scenes. I think you can live without playing abortion mini-games.

In reply to an earlier post on 2 Mar 2014 11:49:26 GMT
That's not the point. The point is I don't want to pay for a game where someone tells me what I can and can not play, censorship is a cancer that needs to be stopped.

Since when on earth do South Park embrace censorship?

I have lost respect for the creators. They should have refused to release a game which has been molested in such a way. Legal obligations are present, take it to court at least, even if it's a lost cause.

If you are 18 or over, you are old enough to make your own choices of what content to consume. If you are under that age, you have a parent or guardian to make that decision for you. It's that simple.

They dont have these issues. PAL and NTSC dont mean anything in HD formats.

Well, ill wait til its cheap and 2nd hand. Won't be handing my money to the pockets of ubisoft. Would like to hear why they think why certain areas can see this censored and other regions cant?

Kieran O. says:
Firstly ; Refuse to release a game they've spent time and money to create because about 20 minutes worth of a game that can last more than 30-40 hours was cut out? Grow up.

You're aware Ubisoft aren't the ones who decide what regions are censored, right? Games are reviewed and such before they are released to make sure they're okay for such an audience, some are lenient, some are Australia.

And on the topic of the censorship, they took the fact they were forced to censor the game and made a joke of it. If such a tiny little detail bothers you to the point you're not willing to buy the game, fork out the extra fiver and get it imported. Your complaints are petty.

When you load the game you'll be asked to apply an update - DON'T APPLY IT. Play the game offline and you'll be able to play it uncensored. (from my understanding)

Dan7712 says:
That is not correct - The EU (PAL) version of this game for Xbox and PS3 is censored from the factory (So it doesn't matter if you don't apply the update). The UK PC version is not censored.

The German version is even more censored then the UK versions to get rid of the swastika symbols.

The USA versions are completely uncensored.

I hope this helps people.

SwordSwingin says:
It was revealed that nobody "forced" Ubisoft to censor the game, we don't have censorship squads altering content (yet) Ubisoft said they chose to do this for marketing purposes which could mean anything. Personally I think it's a stunt to create controversy or just to laugh at none North American markets. Where in European legislation or some insidious ratings agency does it say the few bits of content in this game are not legal because they will not rate them? There is none and Ubisoft never said there was either. This is just Ubisoft.

Can anybody verify if the xbox Version has the swastikas in it. Cause there were rumors that the symbols were cut from the pegi Version as well as the german Version.

Logge - The UK Xbox version does have the swastikas in it. But to be totally honest it you wouldn't even notice see the difference!
