5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Well Produced Season Review DVD 19 Dec 2013
The European Rallycross Championship (now re-branded as RallycrossRX) gets its first official DVD season review since 2009 and, as far as I'm aware, its first season review DVD care of Duke. I own a number of rallycross season review DVD's and I've thought the last few Duke WRC season reviews have been excellent, so I had high hopes for this release.

First and foremost, of all the rallycross DVD's in my collection, this is by far the best produced and best authored. Each round of the nine round Championship gets around 40 minutes of coverage, which is basically the entirety of the highlight programmes that have been shown on Eurosport throughout the year. The coverage of each round follows an identical format, comprising of a short introduction, heat summary, semi finals and finals all of which are individually chapter marked, so finding a particular moment in an event is very easy.

Race footage is consistently good, with onboard footage and the occasional slow motion clip mixed in there. Semi-finals and finals are shown in their entirety, with selected heats from each round getting full coverage as well. Commentary is provided by Andrew Coley, with co-commentary provided by either David Higgins, Kris Meeke or Andrew Jordan. Coley is a bit shouty at times - though not to the point where I found him irritating - the technical input from Higgins, Meeke and Jordan is excellent.

The negatives? Well there are no extras on either of the discs. With nearly 7 hours of coverage, asking for more might seem a bit greedy, but a few full onboard clips would have been a nice addition. The greatest omission in my opinion though, is that there is no coverage of either the Super 1600 or Touring Car support classes.
