Great - full of helpful information even for people like my husband and I - we are in our fifties planning our first trip to Europe and definitely on a tight budget.

Lots of information makes this guide slightly too heavy, especially if youre travelling with backpack. Theres a lot of maps but you can get these (better and bigger maps) from tourist information centres aswell. This guide covers lots of cities, even the smaller ones. I like the Rough Guides Europe on a Budget -guide more.

I used this for planning my inter-rail trip and used it at every destination during my travels. I couldn't recommend it enough. Perfect for capturing the main tourist attractions, restaurants, nightlife, accommodation and so much more. With regards to the size, I carried it in my back pack with no issues- I'm a petite female. I still use it for any holidays I book for a quick over view.

I took this book while travelling around Europe. It has everything you need when arriving in a new city - hotels, restaurants, entertainment, history, maps, etc. If your planning a backpacking trip I would advise you to get this book, The only downside is the size - it's a bit hefty when space in your rucksack is tight!

I heard a lot of good things about this guide and I wasn't disapointed, however if you're looking for a specific country you should get a guide of that country, not this one. You have to keep in mind that this guide has every country in Europe plus marrocos ant turkey so it doesn't have as much information on a country as a more specific guide would have. It also have a map of the countries to help you plan your trip and a map of the most important cities of each country however it has no images of what you should see, only text and sites you can look for.

Nice book, all the major cities in all the european (and some other local) countries. I just wish there was a key/legend on every map to make it easier to decipher!
