In the daylight the 22.8cm diameter globe shows political boundaries, oceans, equator, longitude and latitude lines, country names, capital cities and other major cities for each country in the world. By night the illuminated star map shows constellations with their common names.
The Earth and Constellation Globe has an automatic light sensor so when the globe is turned on and the surrounding area is dark the globe will transform into a beautiful glowing globe showing the star constellations.There is also a handy override switch which allows you to turn off the night-time view and thus conserve battery power. You can also purchase an electrical adpator separately (not included) that you can plug into the globe and power it off mains electrics. Each box contains a specification to enable you to purchase such an adaptor.

A gift that was well received and much enjoyed, particularly the night-time feature when the globe displays a celestial map. Grand-daughter leaves it on until she goes to sleep so the the power supply option will be my next purchase

Well made as plastic goes. Very good definition and detail both in globe mode and night sky. Works fine with batteries but I have bought a mains adaptor since my granddaaughter is almost certainly going to use it as a night light and hence it,s going to be left on for hours; I didn't want the parents to be saddled with battery costs.
I think it would be a better purchase if it included an adaptor (extra cost would be under a tenner. Or, at least supplier could offer the adaptor as an optional extra that could be purchased at the same time. I had to shop around a bit and eventually bought a universal multi voltage adaptor.

My grandson at Christmas thought his earth globe was one of his best presents, we have had so much fun with him explaining all the different star signs and showing him all the different countries he has been too very educational for him.
