Eugenie Summerfield began writing for other children as soon as she could hold a pencil - in her left-hand, which was not looked upon with favour in less enlighted times.She became an avid reader from an early age and was a constant visitor to her local library. She grew up listening to the magic of stories broadcast on radio. Hence her first writing effort were directed to that media, followed by bedtime stories in anthologies such as 'Sweet Dreams, the bedtime story book', 'Tick Tock Tales','Listen with Mother'collections,also the 'Green Grobblop' and 'Thogs & Things' stories in the Story Chest series for schools. She has enjoyed success in radio and TV, mainly with her 'Wonderful Wriggly Worm' stories which delighted young and old over some 17 years. These stories have appeared in recent years in 'Wonderful Wriggly Worm' and Wonderful Wriggly Worm Rides Again' books. At an age when most sensible people are thinking of retiring,she completed her first adult novel, Onwards & Upwards' described as a quintessentially English black comedy,published in 2010. Furthermore, Her brand new exciting trilogy 'Foxes for Ever' for readers of all ages is to be published in May 2012.
