HASH(0x926cdec4) out of 5 stars Good Course Companion 23 May 2014
By Adrian Skinner - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This was the course text companion for the Ethics course at St. Edward's University.

The course was informative and to the extent the companion aided in understanding and formulating ethical frameworks the text was adequate in covering the material.

The Amazon Ebook could be improved upon. The implementation is very basic and without frills. This is nice because it works in the web reader (unlike some other texts) but poor at times when you wonder what a table or chart may be lacking.

HASH(0x926cd45c) out of 5 stars They really do mean the basics 24 Dec. 2012

This book is truly for the beginner philosopher. The text is simple enough for a grade school child to read and comprehend. The information is well thought out and well presented but won't cause you to ponder anything too deeply unless you are 10 years old or younger. It covers some basic theories such as Care Ethics and Utilitarian Ethics. It also compares and contrasts the theories presented. It is a bit repetative in its explanations, but for a young person, this may be just the approach that is needed.

HASH(0x926c1bc4) out of 5 stars Messy bargain 13 April 2015
By Brenda R - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Thorough on the basics, but could use another round of editing. End of chapter summaries are generally helpful, though they would have been more so if they used the four problem format introduced in the beginning. Chapters are organized, but their content seems randomly thrown together. Some of them are engaging while others appear more like an after-thought. I would give it three stars except that as a text book you can't beat the price.
