This is, quite simply, a brilliant work by a towering figure amongst 20th Century Existentialist philosophers. It explains much; why people must assume their ambiguity rather than fight against, and how to be free, one must first wish all to be free.

What amazed me at university and now is the almost complete ...

I studied philosophy at university and am still interested in the subject now. What amazed me at university and now is the almost complete inability of most philosophers to get their ideas over clearly. This book is no different and I was pretty stumped after a couple of paragraphs as to what was going on. The ethics of ambiguity could clearly be a subject of interest, but this book failed to realise this end.

Hard to read
