"The strange and compelling world-building begun in the first book is expanded significantly in this second installment. The increased complexity of the relationships certainly keeps this story from ever becoming dull or predictable. Unfailingly mesmerizing, this series has me hooked." (Coffee Time Romance)

"4.5 Stars! Indie gem! While I really enjoyed the first book, Fallen, in the Guardian Trilogy, the second installment was even better. If you love angels and are looking for an intense read I highly rec this series! I’m starting the 3rd and final book tonight, Reckoning."
(The Book Hookup)

The third book in the Guardian Trilogy, Reckoning, is available as well!

2.0 out of 5 stars Whhaaattt... 28 Mar. 2013

I'll review this as a series since I have read them. If you like a book with gaping plot holes that goes round and round and around in circles then this is a series of books for you. But I'm going to address some issues below so spoiler alert.

1. If alterums or whatever are good souls who have fell to earth and Eran falls and is an 18 year old when he falls (the same for Gershome in book 3) then when in Paris how come both Maggie and Eran are both children who were born with parents??? I thought that was what caused you to loose your memory if you were reborn ... they knew they were Alterums.

2. If Abaddons great plan was to release the elsics in book 3 and everyone was so horrified then hadn't he already done this in book 2?

3. Fair enough Maggie can deliver messages to to the other side but is this really really that important?

4. All the fallen one's want to kill the messengers simply because they can send them to eternal death.... shouldn't that be a reason to have stayed away from the messengers? All they were doing was carrying messages between family members. If the left them alone then the guardian's would never have been formed and the messengers never would have learned to fight. It just doesn't seem like that big of a reason to attack them.

5. Ok so Marco is a fallen one but he died being a good person. Abandon told him to fall (effectively tricking him as we are told) but when he died would he not have become an Alterum instead of a fallen one. I thought the whole point was you had to do something evil to become a fallen one there isn't anything about Marco being evil before he died. He was actually quite chivalrous.

There are so many more but this series just annoyed me too much I don't want to think about them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good 2nd :-) 3 Jan. 2012

I don't think I've put any spoilers in, but just be careful in case you don't agree.

I've been enjoying the fallen trilogy quite a lot and book 2 Eternity certainly improved on the first. I was so glad the things I put in my first review proved right for the 2nd book which has impressed me with Laury's writing skills. I won't say exactly what book 2 offers but if you read my review of Fallen you'll know what I mean ;-)

Well, what I love about this book - We get Maggie's history and of course with Maggie's history comes a lot Eran's history and you can't help but fall in love with him even more, the things he has endured for Maggie is heart breaking and you can truly understand why he is the way he is and you know even some of the strongest of people would have walked away before now (I really am a sad romantic - lol). Anyways their relationship is as strong as ever, if not even stronger, there's a worrying part near the end making you think it's all over but luckily that doesn't happen and we go on to book 3!

Rufus, Ezra & Felix are back and as I thought they have a BIG secret which is revealed and if you are like me, you would have seen it coming! Greshom is still with us YEY and helps play a good part. We get introduced to a couple more characters Ms Beedenwig who again has a secret but that is revealed quite early on in the book and we get to learn some more of Maggie's history. Campion is another great character and I think he has a lot more to offer but tragedy strikes - However as I said about Greshom in book one, I think Campion will be back to tell another tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great trilogy 7 Mar. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read a lot of these type of trilogies and this one is really good, bringing a new dimension within the hero Maggie and her guardian Eran such that it continually grips and keeps you turning the pages. I would definitely recommend this as one to read and enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story, decent read 9 Aug. 2013
By Jenny
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I like Laury Falter, I think she is an intelligent writer and her characters are witty and fully developed.
The story is good and it keeps you reading and guessing right through all 3 books.

The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is mainly the ending of the series, it seemed a bit rushed and kind of abrupt. I don't know if this is because she intends to write more in the future or if she just got so near the end that she couldn't wait to finish.

The books were definitely rushed, which was evident in the editing too and there were quite a few grammatical errors and mistakes (names were wrong, characters mixed up.)

But all in all a very good story and worth reading and her residue series is worth a read too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic continuation of this series 5 Dec. 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book and really enjoyed learning about the history between Maggie and Eran including what makes Eran tick and why he is the way he is. The supporting characters are as great as always and the character interaction is superb.
The story is as good as that in Fallen and the book seamlessly carries on from Fallen. It has shaped up to be what should be a fantastic trilogy and I am eagerly awaiting the next installment.
I can't reccomend this book and series enough. As other reviewers have said it delivers what other books in this series have tried to do and fully captures your imagination.
