Assistant DA Erin Jerome has a secret. Make that two. One: She's not entirely human - she's Other, desperately trying to keep her supernatural strength under wraps. Two: she's got a killer stalking her - an Other rogue set on 'gifting' her bloody corpses, not to mention nights lying awake in terror. Small wonder she's been having bad luck with men. But the bounty hunter on her new case isn't worried about any of that. Jude Donovan is a shapeshifter himself, and the new DA's midnight hair and addictive scent tell him all he thinks he needs to know: She's gorgeous, she's definitely not human, and she's bringing out the animal in him in a really good way. He might have to track a psychotic Other stalker through half of Louisiana. But he might also get the chance to watch Erin's wild side come out and play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shifters, Vamps and Demons - Spicy Mix 8 Feb 2010
If you are thinking of buying this book I suggest you start at the beginning of the series. Although the books can stand alone, characters and outcomes from previous books are mentioned and this might spoil it a little if you find you really like what you are reading. If you like your romance reading with crime, suspense, and hot paranormal lovers in the guise of bad boy demons, tough shifter cops etc then this is a series for you.

I really enjoyed this book, I had a feeling towards one part of the book, towards the end, who the unknown stalker was and it was quite nice to know I was right! I loved the pace of the book, the mystery of the stalker/killer and the romance in between.

Jude is amazingly cool and I think everyone needs a Jude in their life! Erin was quite cool as well, really embraced the fact Jude is a shifter. So much mystery and everything got solved in a very nice cool pace - not too fast and not giving away too much either but in time it became clear.

I like books like these and I'm definitely going to read more books written by Cynthia Eden and hopefully there are more books in this series, if it is a series ^_^ As I want to read more about Zane and Dee but also how Jude and Erin and of course Erin's mom are doing. So much more world and characters to explore here!

I definitely recommend this book.

You can't really go wrong with a Cynthia Eden story. It had just the right mix of suspense, romance, mystery and thrills. I love the strong emotions and tight relationships that CE spins in her storylines and this book certainly had its fair share. Thoroughly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average 30 May 2013
By Sylarah
To be honest, I don't think Eternal Hunter is bad. In fact, I think it is a perfectly recommendable read to those who like paranormal romance with some crime/thriller elements to them. The writing is good, the romance is enjoyable enough (if you can deal with the leads hooking up within 5 seconds of meeting each other), and the villain works well within the context of the story.

While the book is rather average in my opinion, it can be an enjoyable read as long as you don't think too hard about it. The plot and the characters are for the most part painfully simple, predictable and kinda stupid. Those things would have been acceptable IF the book didn't take itself so seriously. The serious tone of the book only serves to highlight the silliness of the plot and characters, and made me think that Eternal Hunter would have been better if written in a more Kresley Cole-ish style with more focus on wit, humor and action.

The central gist of the plot is the main character's attempts to get rid of her psychopathic stalker. That in itself is a solid idea for a plot, and there are a lot of mentions of how she has desperately tried to escape her stalker and that she is tired of hiding from him. She is depicted as someone who has given up her life and tried everything to escape from a stalker that she knew she could not fight on her own, and all this is treated with a great deal of seriousness (which is fair enough, stalking is a serious crime).

So what has the main character done to escape her stalker? She moves from a small town in the south to... another southern town a few hours of driving away. She doesn't change her name or find a job in a new, less public sector.
