Book Description

The Eternal Fortress is a vast and impregnable bastion, built to protect the border. It is all that stands between the ships and soldiers of Black Legion, and their path to survival. Yet the Fortress is also a trap, designed to lure and pin an attacker, until superior weaponry can grind the enemy to dust over days of bloody battle.

Xenophon has proven his worth, but he has few choices remaining. The long and bloody expedition has taken its toll on both the soldiers and the ships of the Legion. He is aware that a retreat into the Empire will mean a confrontation with the Emperor. A confrontation which they cannot win. There remains only one alternative. To run the gauntlet of the Eternal Fortress.

Already, the Medes are aware of Terrans proximity. They put a plan into action that will finally decide the fate of the Legion. It is a plan so deadly the Terrans will almost certainly die. Except those unlucky enough to be sold into slavery. Or worse.

The Eternal Fortress is the sixth book in the Star Legions series by Michael G. Thomas, the bestselling author of the Star Crusades series. Previously published as the Black Legion series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Thoroughly Entertaining Read 14 Aug. 2014
By T.D. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Michael Thomas is a brilliant science fiction and horror novelist who has just completed another best seller I believe in this Kindle book ‘The Eternal Fortress’ which is his 6th book in the Star Legions series and it does not disappoint.

The Eternal Fortress is extremely well written, and is one of the best sci-fi books I have read in a very long time. Michael Thomas has developed an intriguing plot with lots of twists and turns while also fully developing the key characters such as Xenophon. It's riveting story that drags you in from the very beginning to end. With this Science fiction Kindle book I found myself totally immersed and struggled to put it down late at night.

To sum up, I found that ‘The Eternal Fortress’ was thoroughly entertaining and is definitely a must read and at a very reasonable purchase price. Hopefully there will be a seventh book to this series.

Now I love this series and that is exactly why I am on the 6th book! I can't express how much I get into these books; it makes me feel like I am there, in the battle with them.

When I first started reading this I just got sucked into it and I love it! This book is perfect for when I need something fun to read on my days off.

I would strongly suggest getting this if you like action packed all-out war stories like I do.

This is an awesome experience and you won't be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Balance of the new & the familiar 11 Aug. 2014
By R.J. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I like this book, even though I realized that I grabbed the series out of order. I'm spending a lot of my time, as I read, thinking about worlds created by authors (and in my own writing attempts), and the balance between the new and the familiar. This works well, and the level of detail throughout is pretty impressive.
