Who or what is haunting the house?
Read this incredible true story of the paranormal, and Anita's journey of the unknown that challenges the very core of her spiritual beliefs and tests the limits of her loyalty and friendship.

About the Author

Classically trained as a fine artist, Anita Jo Intenzo graduated with honors from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, earning a B.S. Degree in Art Education. She taught art classes at day and evening schools for 25 years. Her paintings currently hang in collections throughout the United States, and she has had several gallery shows. She started restoring old photos over 35 years ago and created her business, Past Images by Anita, in 2000 where she preserves and restores family treasures: photos, paintings and antique dolls, so that their history will endure for future generations. Genealogical and historical societies seek her out for her expert consultations, lectures and appraisals. In January of 2009, her life took a dramatic turn when, as executrix of a dear friend’s estate, she became involved with the paranormal. As executrix, she was responsible for clearing his house and selling it. It did not take long after she began that task that Anita experienced real and often-frightening poltergeist activity there and soon began confronting true evil. She wrote this book as she was moved and profoundly changed by the experiences. She is now working on its terrifying sequel, DARK TRANSFERENCE. Anita lives with her family and several resident ghosts, in the Philadelphia suburbs, on a property dating back to the 1800’s.

Estate of Horror is a page turner. As other reviewers have noted, you turn the pages fast. It is engrossing right from the beginning. Now, I have admitted elsewhere to being afraid of the dark as a child. While other members of my family read wonderful books at night by the light of a flashlight under the covers, I had the lights on as bright as I could get them. Then and nowadays, I never read in a dark room. With "Estate of Horror", I found reason enough to keep the lights on.

Funny enough, as I turned page after page, I lost track of time. This well-written story holds your attention captive. You wonder what could possibly be behind the goings on in Paul's house? The suspense gradually builds up until it shows you an unexpected cause for the haunting and poltergeist activity. I am definitely looking forward to the sequel. I recommend this book highly (five stars) for genuine fans of the genre: ghosts, hauntings, poltergeists, and other paranormal activity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping and Interesting 27 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I truly enjoyed reading this book of an actual true event, only one thing frustrated me and that was, the mystery of the missing relic, I wont say anymore as I don't want to spoil it for new readers. I expect more will be revealed in the Author's follow-up 2nd book, I can't wait to read that as soon as it's released.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's not that I hate this story, but ... 8 April 2014
By El Josu - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had to give it only one star. The premise for the story is actually very good, and I read the first few chapters very fast, with anticipation of things to come as the story developed.

However, that was all. Anticipation. The story begins to drag with details about sorting out boxes, cleaning basements, and always having black magic markers or photo slides flying around. Page after page is filled with ... details about sorting out boxes, cleaning basements, and having black magic markers or photo slides flying around. This goes on for about 90% of the book.

I felt as if the story was deliberately dragged with the same recount of events (on different dates though), not having some sort of "semi-conclusion" until the last 8% of the book, so as to leave the reader ready to buy the sequel (to find out what really happens).

It's not the first time I read stories that do this, leaving the reader ready to buy the next sequel after finishing the first book, because the story dragged on for too long.

Did I like this book? Yes and No. I liked it when I started reading it. I didn't like the way it dragged the main story.
Would I recommend this book to a friend? No.
Will I buy the sequel? No.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT DEBUT FOR THIS AUTHOR!!! 15 Feb 2014
By Movie Man - Published on
While reading this book I found I could not put it down. I wanted to see what happened next? Anita Jo Intenzo's book is very well written and her accounts of the haunting she and her son experienced was both compelling and authentic. It was sad, had some funny moments and was terrifying all at the same time. So many "true" accounts of haunted houses are so "fabricated" and obviously not true, but this book is very believable. I don't know how they lived through it? As Mr. Bill Bean was quoted on the back cover,"It took an act of faith and courage for Anita to write this book". Indeed it was. I can't wait for the sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome read 13 Mar 2014

This was a most enjoyable book to read. It was well written with very few editing mistakes.
I am surprised that this story hasn't generated some television coverage. This is a story of a haunting of such magnitude that I find it unbelievable that anyone would enter the house more than once.
The author is quite a lady with "stones" bigger than most
men. She was not going to be swayed from her mission.
This book is certainly worth reading. You'll enjoy it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Find 16 May 2014

Interesting story, however, not well written and drags on far longer than I was interested. I love true host stories, and won't spoil the end of this one, but for me this one was a let down. I will not be buying the second book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy freaky 10 Mar 2014

Well, as a survivor of a paranormal house of horrors, I can relate to this story. While reading this book I had flashbacks of what I experienced. Anita's writing helps you to feel like you are experiencing the happenings right along with her and her son Chris. If you want an inside view of a true haunting, read this book. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Can't wait for the follow up book!
