Great little manual 24 Feb 2010
By Simon D
Format:Paperback
I think this is a great little manual of the basic techniques for mountain biking. Ideal to have around to dip into as a reminder. The best thing about it is the emphasis on the practical and keeping it simple. It gives you just enough on the technique for you to then go out and practice.

Buy this Book 17 Nov 2009
Format:Paperback
This book is brilliant. All esential MTB skills are clearly outlined with some great actions shots that demonstrate each lesson. The development from basic core skills and positioning to more advanced skills like jumps and drop-offs means you learn at a great pace. I can't rate this book highly enough!

Trying to pull wheelies with your arms?
Continually crashing into fences/trees on the trail?
Skidding fruitlessly (and dangerously) around corners?
I was the same..

This book teaches you to change the way you ride... for the best. The book teaches you how to ride from the ground up giving you plenty of information on the bike and the setup you need before you even get a leg over the bike (this part is really well described and massively improved my setup). And once you're on the bike it covers everything you need to know in a step by step basis with (really cool) colour images showing you exactly what you should be doing and when. It covers the how-to excellently and explains the rationale behind the skills in a logical manner that really helps you to dispel those bad habits. Covering a large range of skills from newb to pro (linking and developing skills as it goes) this book really helps you to progress as a rider.

Worth noting is that the book is very durable (has even survived being caught in the rain)!! So if you want a book that you can easily carry with you and pop out when you need it this is an awesome book that I definately recommend!
