It is absolutely great. I am not much of a cook and I need a book like this to help be to make real tastly dished for the family. I got this book after I bought my first slow cooker. It has large beautifully takes pictures for just about every recipe that and easy to follow instructions. Mearurements are in bls/kg/cups/cans. There are bit on it about cuts of meal and intro into slow cooking. There is even a page on which fruit & veg are in season.
I have so far make the Chicken Korma & Thai Curry. Make in the morning and leave in the slow cooker for 6-8 hours for dinner later that day.
It give you instruction on how to cook on a hob & also a slow cooker high or low setting. If I prepare the meal really early then I know just how long & what slow cooker setting to put it out on. Sections include What is slow cooking, equipment, composing a menu, benefits on slow cooking, pantry setup, veg meals, seafood meals, chicken, port, beef/lamb meals, meal cuts, glossoary & index.
I am into low fat cooking so I have had to change the buttermilk in the Chicken Korma for fromage frais & it still taste wonderful.
If there is anything to add I would like to know what the calories & fat content of each meal were.
I like spending an evening ust flicking through the recipes & looking at the pictures. It is so stylishly presented and easy to follow. Must Have.
