5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome Plug-In for Element User's 8 Aug 2009
I must profoundly disagree with a previous reviewer over his view that Essential v2. is simply `gimmicky`. There are many, indeed thousands of `actions' that can be incorporated into Photoshop Elements. Many of them free if you search the right Forums. Some are indeed gimmicky and some, like Essential 2 are very very good. The program not only boasts 4 distinct and separate `actions' ie: Make it Better, Cut It Out, Frames and finally Enlargement, but also has, within its set-up, 6 instructional video tutorials for the user to implement and learn howto use the separate programs. It installed flawlessly on my Vista 32bit system. I am a simple enthusiast when it comes to photo manipulation and have found this software to be of great benefit when worked in conjunction with Elements tools. The Cut It Out and Enlargement sections of the program being the most intuitive and useful to me. The results from the Cut It Out, or Masking section, is amazing. Especially for hair!! Just check out the inboard videos and/or on the onOne.com website for yet more videos and howto and/or what to do. A great deal of effort has been put into this program to make it user friendly. The Frames section can be counted in their hundreds and can all be manipulated by size, colour, opacity etc..... the list here is endless. Basically its just a huge addition to the frames library already held within Elements itself. Why it should be thought of as a gimmicky piece of software is simply beyond me.

All in all I think that this software is a welcome plug-in to Elements and something that I am glad that I purchased. The downside is that the licence states that it can only be installed twice on differing machines. Although if you change your computer you can contact the onOne people for a work around.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not upto much 5 July 2009
Was very dissapointed with this software, the effects in the framing section just look awfull and after playing with it for a while to see if these would suit any photos I decided this to be a gimicky piece of software. Didnt have much luck with the masking feature either but got to be honest and say I didn't spend to much time with it, so maybe decent masking could be achieved.
I personally would't buy this again, there may be a market for non serious photographers looking to add a bit of fun to there images.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good program 5 Jun 2008

I bought Essentials 2 for Adobe Photoshop mainly for the Cut-It-Out feature and, for the price, the program is worth it for this feature alone. There is a slight learning curve to use the Cut-It-Out feature but, once you learn how to use it, it's great. One of the hardest things to do in graphic software, like Photoshop, is decently cutting out figures (like people). The Cut-It-Out feature of Essentials 2 does a very good job, especially with hard-to-cut objects like hair. Essentials also has two other built-in programs: Make It Better, an easy way for a novice to improve images, and Frame It, for people who like to play around with making unique and custom photo frames.

4.0 out of 5 stars Add more creativity to Photoshop Elements 1 Mar 2009

I have been very impressed with this product. It has 4 trimmed down versions of OnOne Professional Photoshop Plug-ins.

The frames plug in is by far my favorite. If you are familiar with layers the frame plug in adds endless creativity. The "make it better" plug in is nice for enhancing photos for users new to Photoshop Elements. Cut it out adds functionality to Photoshop Elements 6. For Photoshop Elements 7 users it adds another method for cutting subjects out from the background. Enlarge it is a great tool for getting great prints.

I am using this on a Vista 64-bit system and have used it with both Photoshop Elements 6 & 7.

While all of the plug-ins add to and enhance the Photoshop Elements experience to me, Frame It alone is worth the price of this suite of plug-ins. The rest is just icing on the cake so to speak.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Add On for PS Elements 13 Dec 2007

I purchased this product mainly for the selection portion, which I find cumbersome and hard to use. But I love the "make it better" portion, it does a great job quickly and I love the Frames. I like a finishing touch on my photos and this has a lot to choose from. I liked this so much, that when I upgraded to CS3, I also upgraded to the Photo Frames Pro.

[[ASIN:B000V7VZ1U Essentials 2 For Adobe Photoshop Elements]

My Essentials 2 won't install. Although I have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 8, it says choose a plug-in ffolder in which to install onOne Essentials, but no matter what choice I click on, it says Photoshop.exe does not exist. A search on my computer also does not locate Photoshop.exe. So how to you install Essentals2? Anyone know, please write to joanwrites@aol.com
