Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Ultimate peace of mind when disposing of your computer!

Permanently destroy your computer data.

With PCs becoming more affordable, many people are giving away their old computers to charity, family members or just selling them on. However, did you know that computers store personal information such as credit-card information, personal details, addresses, email, passwords and much more, even after they have been deleted?

Erase Your PC ensures data on a hard drive is truly erased and unrecoverable. With other techniques such as deleting files, folders, formatting or even deleting partitions, all of the data still resides on the drive and can be easily recovered. Erase Your PC overwrites this data to make it virtually unrecoverable.

Features

  • Use Erase your PC when you plan to sell or give your old computer to another user, who you do not wish to have access to your work files, financial information, internet passwords and other sensitive data.
  • Erase your PC provides a multi-pass drive/ partition erase fort total peace of mind. Use it to make sure that your data is securely and completely erased - for good!
  • With Erase your PC, simply select the specific partitions or the entire drive you wish to Erase your PC - there are no limits to the Drive Size.
  • Advanced options are also available to validate and change the default multi - pass erase process.
  • Runs even if your Operating System is no longer stable.

Not great! 17 Jun 2009

I would count myself as pretty computer savvy, but I found this not at all user-friendly if you don't have a floppy drive (which most computers don't now!)

needs a floppy disk drive to work. needless to say how many modern PCs have these? Waste of money.

No floppy disk drive? Hardly surprising. No PS2 mouse? Also a redundant feature. Try this simple method of permanently destroying your data at no cost:

Switch off and disconnect your PC. Open it up and locate the hard-drive. Remove the hard drive and take it to a building site where foundations are being cast. Toss the drive in with the concrete.

Alternatively - put on protective clothing and lock up your pets and children. Find a hard surface and smash the hard-drive to pieces with a hammer. Bag it and bin it.

All much cheaper and more entertaining than this useless piece of software.
