The first time I heard Adiemus was during an afternoon working at Oxfam. The radio was on and this song was playing. When I heard it, something within me seems to awaken. I cannot explain the feeling but the enchanting words from the song seemed to pull me into its music. Unfortunately, I did not hear whom it was by or the name of the song. As you can imagine, I was in a foul mood for the rest of that afternoon.
The second time I heard it was about four months later at home. When it was playing, I jumped at once to record it off the radio but most unfortunately ¨C as these things always happen ¨C I could not find a spare tape. However this time I did manage to take down the name of the composer and the song.
After that, I went and bought ¡®The Essential Adiemus¡¯ and I have being absorbed in its wondrous music ever since.
Karl Jenkins is a true genius when it comes to enhancing the minds and bewitching the senses. The songs in this album are just absolutely amazing. It is so good that I cannot really find any words to describe it. Only when you actually listen to it can you experience the true wonders of this album.
